Aussie Rules International (ARI) is pleased to announce that Australian Rules Football will make its debut as an official demonstration sport at the 2011 Africa Games in Mozambique.
The two competing teams will be Mozambique and an Aboriginal team from Australia. The match will take place at the National Stadium in Maputo, which has a seating capacity of 42,000 people.
The Australian team will also conduct junior coaching clinics as part of the Youth Camp Program that is held during the Games. This will involve teaching the skills of the sport to approximately 300 children (aged 14-18) from all over Africa.
The inclusion of Australian Rules Football in the 2011 Africa Games is a fantastic opportunity to introduce our game to more than 50 countries!
